10/02/2006 Special Event Veterans Form GhostLight Productions, LLC
Cleveland – Two of Northeast Ohio’s most talented and experienced special events professionals have announced the formation of GhostLight Productions, LLC. Deborah Smythe Hermann will assume the leadership role as Chairwoman and CEO of the new enterprise; David Shimp takes the reigns as President and COO. The partnership will bring these formidable talents together to create a full spectrum event production company that designs, plans and produces original, signature special events for business, civic and nonprofit organizations.
“Dave Shimp and I have worked together on events for years and have tremendous respect for each other,” said Hermann. “We realized that by forming our own company we can deliver a turnkey event, making it easier, more cost-effective and more fun for our clients. Each of us has skills that compliment the other and industry contacts and relationships that can only benefit our clients.”
The new partnership means that GhostLight Productions will offer more than event production only and will now include full production support – A/V, lighting, staging and soft goods. Shimp brings over 30 years operations and management experience to the new business. When asked why the change of direction, Shimp had this to say. “I have a passion for sound and lighting design and for introducing clients to the incredible new technology out there. GhostLight will give me this opportunity.”
Hermann and Shimp bring an extensive client list to the partnership and fully expect to maintain those relationships while engaging new ones with their passion, energy and spirit.
